Position doesn't matter - I'm doing it both in the morning and in the bed at night. I only try to guard myself against putting my palms flat against any solid surface, but perhaps even that's not necessary.

Love that big long post. Whenever I'm blind I command my vision to materialize.. then i always see a lamp.. It's the first thing I see when I come from blindness.

Also, when I project and I'm in my house, there is usually a dream character present. I dunno, I ignore the first person I see, because I might question why they are in my house. Instead i cheerfully wave goodbye as I float through the ceiling, not really paying attention to who I'm waving at. Just be happy your conscious for the experience and start exploring the world :)
