Programming the brain.

Hello.
My mission is to program my brain (literally). What I mean is - creating sets of algorithms. The brain is a universal Turing machine (a computer); so any kind of a "program" is possible. Few examples: savant abilities, painting\drawing directly from the mind, experiencing anything (including drug induced states and enlightenment), having conscious (lucid) dreams, making mathematical models like in a 3D program etc. Anything mental that is possible.
There are three ways I so far found I can achieve it:
1) To (literally) see something from my imagination and then continuing to control it more and more. This is the best method.
2) To stay conscious when sleeping, so I can enter my dreams consciously. Much less good; for some obvious downsides compared to the first; mostly that it's very rare, easily possible to be waken, can't...(continued)

Meditation to perform Astral Projection

Surfent, Unattainable dreams are the best kind.

Astral projection is where your soul actually leaves your body. This is different from remote viewing where you enter into a trance and will yourself to a specific location. The following two meditations are just basic guidelines.

Meditation 1

This meditation feels weird. Just make sure you seriously want to project, otherwise, any hesitation can keep you in your body. You have to be relaxed, both mentally and physically. The first few times are the most difficult. Like with anything else, consistent practice will make this easier, until you no longer have to even enter into a deep trance, but can project any time at will. Some people find projecting easier than others, as they have done this in past lives.

1. Get real comfortable and go into a trance. When you are so relaxed you can no longer feel your body, you...(continued)

Saw this just on youtube. Thought of sharing it :)

Neuroscientist Sara Lazar's amazing brain scans show meditation can actually change the size of key regions of our brain, improving our memory and making us more empathetic, compassionate, and resilient under stress.

Post your views :)

Focus Level

Focus levels are numerical, content-neutral labels for specific altered states of consciousness associated with specific Hemi-Sync binaural beat combinations defined by The Monroe Institute (TMI). From a physiological point of view, they correspond to specific objectively measurable brainwave frequency distributions.

There is significant agreement by those who induce them that each Focus Level has a distinct subjective mental flavour. These flavours tend to be notably non-pedestrian, as the brain states associated with them are rarely encountered naturally outside of meditational contexts. For example, anecdotal reports commonly suggest that Focus 15 feels "beyond time", and that levels beyond Focus 22 relate to perceptions of various planes of afterlife existence. Higher-numbered Focus Levels are generally felt to be extremely profound and...(continued)

Meditation for Beginners: 20 Practical Tips for Quieting the Mind

1 Like - 5 Replies

I found a nice post :)
So posting it here ;)

Meditation is the art of focusing 100% of your attention in one area. The practice comes with a myriad of well-publicized health benefits including increased concentration, decreased anxiety, and a general feeling of happiness.

Although a great number of people try meditation at some point in their lives, a small percentage actually stick with it for the long-term. This is unfortunate, and a possible reason is that many beginners do not begin with a mindset needed to make the practice sustainable.

The purpose of this article is to provide 20 practical recommendations to help beginners get past the initial hurdles and integrate meditation over the long term:

1) Make it a formal practice. You will only get to the next level in meditation by setting...(continued)

What is the difference between "Thought" and "Intuition"?

And the question remains, 'Are there thoughts in outer space?'

I would say 'thoughts' are everywhere about everything whereas 'intuition' is personal.

Yeah, What does it mean to 'intuit' something?  Is that the same as 'thinking' something?

Intuition is gaining some sort of evidence of the ethereal 'world' around you without any conscious thinking.  Intuition is like reading the invisible placard or sign telling you something.**

shiv
There is a nice article given in TOI (09/10/2012), in Speaking Tree section.

which highlights "Thoughts". i would like to know, how would you differentiate between thought and intuition..??

It is fun to try to stop this thinking. This inner dialog keeps us from being able to be quiet within. It is really a good feeling if you are able to stop this thinking and find the peace and quietness withing. If the everyday world become to much and too stessed I just focus on the quietness and then for a moment things look different.

best wishes

Here's a link for an online qiqong course. Don't dismiss the simplicity of the postures. Try them and if you find it's something you wish to pursue, I've included a link to download "The Way Of Energy," which goes into greater detail of the system.
