Hi everyone, I've been trying to astral project for a few weeks now without much success. But I think I might have almost projected, but I'm not sure seeing as how I've never been successful in doing so. I laid down on my bed, got completely relaxed. I laid completely still not moving a bit. I then used the mind awake body asleep technique until I didn't feel my body at all. I then began to imagine I was on a swing, swinging back & forth. I only had to do this for maybe a minute or two until I began to feel as if I was falling. I continued to swing and suddenly my heart began beating very rapidly. So to the point I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I got nervous & opened my eyes. I feel like maybe opening my eyes stopped the process. I no longer felt the falling sensation & slowly my heart rate slowed down. Was I close to projecting? And if I get to the rapid heart beat how can I relax enough to push through that to get to the next phase. Any advice would be helpful & greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone ; )
Hi Casey, welcome to forum.
I feel you were 60% near to astral projection, do not worry, first few tries will be like this only, you might feel something wrong is going to happen for you, trust me, nothing wrong will happen, astral projection is very new for you, you might have never felt it before, new things are always scary and fearful. Just do not lose interest. You will surely astral project next time.
The techniques you are using is fine. Whatever makes you comfortable is a best technique for you. Rapid heart beat is common. Which happens to everyone. You can try to keep yourself calm when you experience the same thing again. Do not try to open your physical eyes next time, just try to visualize your surrounding with closed eyes (third eye). Say to yourself next time when you have rapid heart, "Nothing wrong can happen to me, I am going to get calm and astral project now" till you get calm and astral project.

Thank you so much reading my post & replying with encouraging advice. I'm going to give myself the affirmation you suggested next time. I think that would really help. This is very new & I have never experienced it before. I didn't quite know what to expect, & not knowing what to expect can be a little scary. I think later today I'll try it again, & use that affirmation to keep calm. Again, thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it
