I've had sleep paralysis hundreds of times, but this was something different, not ordinary sleep paralysis. Firstly, I did something new, I said to myself "IM GONNA HAVE SLEEP PARALYSIS TONIGHT" about 10 times before going to bed, this works for me for lucid dreams, but this is the first time I tried it for sleep paralysis and what do you know, it worked. On falling asleep, I got sucked into sleep paralysis and I felt the usual menacing tactile hallucinations (no auditory ones this time, and I never get visual hypnagogic hallucinations), and I started feeling vibrations and this reminded me of something I read about astral projection so I decided to try and leave my body, I pretended there was a rope and I was climbing up it. I opened my eyes and could see these translucent, irredescent arms, very trippy (for someone who usually doesn't get visual sleep paralysis hallucinations), it looked like something you see on DMT. It didn't work, I was still in my body. I was waiting for a dream to start but I was waiting a good 10 minutes and the usual visions and free falling sensation (which always happen right before a dream starts) weren't happening and I was getting tired of being molested and strangled by hypnagogic hallucinations so I decided I was gonna try getting up out of bed, that sometimes triggers a false awakening and thus, dream to start. I instantly knew it worked because I was mobile so I opened my eyes and sat up.
Something immediately caught my attention. There was this white, ghostly looking thing standing in the corner of my room staring at me. It reminded me of a horror movie. I was a bit startled because usually dream people don't pay any attention to me until I attack them or do something else to get their attention but this thing was staring right at me. I started to get up to go on my usual lucid rampage, and when I did this thing started moving towards me, as it got closer it looked more like a naked woman. It (I couldn't tell if it was male or female, it looked kinda like a woman or a skinny guy with longish hair) walked up to me with its hands out and I was a bit paranoid from the sleep paralysis hallucinations so I kicked him/her and he/she jumped back. Heres where it gets weird. I woke up but I could still see this translucent person standing at the end of my bed. I was thinking (it will fade away any second now, but about 10 seconds elapsed and it was still there. I panicked and this translucent person faded.
This was a first for me, I've never had something from a dream remain fully visible in front of me after waking up. Also, my body usually doesn't move an inch when I am in sleep paralysis, in this case I woke up in the position I was in the dream, I was sitting up in my bed staring at this translucent dream person standing at the end of my bed. It was mind bogglingly trippy, when I first opened my eyes this person looked like something from a horror movie, it was white and translucent, it was just standing there staring at me. It was when I started to get up that it started walking towards me, then I could see it was more like a naked woman, not some scary looking ghost demon thing. It looked like a girl about 20 or so, she looked kind of excited or something when I started getting up and she came at me and went to grab me or something because she got close enough for me to kick her from my bed. The reason I kicked her was because I had just came out of sleep paralysis, and the hallucinations I was getting were kind of dark and evil so I was still defense mode. She looked happy and excited when she came at me, and after I kicked her, she had a puzzled look on her face. Then she just stood there at the end of my bed with a blank look on her face staring at me. The room was dark but I had no trouble seeing this person because she was kind of glowing/illuminated. She wasn't irredescent like my arms were, she had a white glow to her.
Did I just have my first OBE? I've had someone tell me they saw me hovering above their bed, and I happened to "lucid dream" I was doing that on the very same night, so this probably isn't my first time, but that was well before I'd read about astral projection so I thought it was just an insane coincidence at the time. Anyhow, can anyone here experienced with this stuff give me some insight. If this was an OBE, why was this translucent person in my room staring at me? Are these sleep paralysis hallucinations actually astral phenomena? If so, is it a bad sign that I feel arms holding me and things latched onto my back and neck every time I get sleep paralysis?
