Journeys in time; ruins

Posted about 12 years ago , by Almos

These are the memories of my long-past journeys.

In many of them I didn't have a body; I was just a point of consciousness traveling through empty space or foreign landscapes. In one such journey I found myself in a city that I - at the time - took for nineteenth-century Paris; upon returning to normal consciousness, however, I decided it must have been rather nineneenth-century Washington. A large, domed structure similar to the Capitol dominated the cityscape; trams were in evidence, though while being in one of them I was capable of turning it - by force of will - into its modern version.

In another journey I left my body to find myself floating, body-less, in a seemingly endless space. After journeying through it for indefinite time I arrived back to my bedroom, though the entire flat seemed flooded by a light similar to that of a rising sun. What was interesting was a feeling of timelesness or frozeness to this reality, as though I found myself outside of time as we know it. Very difficult to describe.

In a relatively recent journey, about five years ago, I found myself floating through a landscape composed of ruined buildings. The ruins stretched to the horizon and beyond. I remember floating through a wall and then hitting another wall. It was then that I realized I had a body.

I looked around. There was a sad quality about the place. The inside of the building - actually a project - was almost completely empty. I heard voices and saw several people that looked like brutal teenage tramps clad in black leather jackets. They were threatening, so I decided to make an experiment - I folded my fingers into the sign of cornuta and pointed it at them. The sign is frequently associated with satanism, though in reality it stems from the folk tradition and is reputed to drive away evil forces. To my surprise, the reaction was instanteous. The teenagers turned away and began to walk, hesitantly, towards the exit. Having decided that I'm not really safe here, I broke the trance and returned to normal consciousness.
