Is it all in my mind?

last night I slept and found myself inside a lucid dream. My dream took place outside my house with people playing and doing their regular life business. but I was scared of my dream because I was afraid that If I got to close to someone, they would come and hurt me because I heard that entities can come into your lucid dreams from somewhere.

I decided then to leave my dream since I was scared and alert of everything so I literally pulled myself up from the bed and tried turning on the lights of my room but my hands went through the on and off switch.

I then realized that I must be dreaming again and somehow I ended up getting up from my bed again but finding out that my hands would just go through the light switch ;(

This happened like 4 times

I finally woke in reality but could not tell what was real or not

Is my mind playing tricks on me, or was it just a dream or the astral projection experience thing?

It reminds me of something called A dream within a dream...astral projection related....i've had dreams of dreaming of something....In dream, I was sleeping, dreaming of a lion coming in the door, & tried to wake self up, only to "wake up" in the same room, just as a lion came in, & yet stood my ground,  and then woke up in real time....I've had a few like this over the years....Its almost like you were on a higher astral level {first dream}, came down a notch {felt awake 'dream'}, then finally to this level...kind of thing....physically awake.
