vibrations question

Im still very new to this and have yet to actually leave my body but i had a couple questions to make sure im actually going along the correct path.

The other night i was trying out different different things to focus on with my eyes closed and i found one thing that i THINK put me through to the vibrations within minutes of laying down. First off i had on headphones and was listening to binural beats.  I would focus on my 3rd eye, but i would focus so hard i could feel my eyes being strained.  I would do this for about 5 seconds, or until it started hurting my eyes then completely relax.  This strain would cause my eyes to see all sorts of random shapes and colors that i could lightly focus on while relaxing.  Within 20 seconds my entire body got extremely tingly and i felt lighter.

I have never heard of a technique like this before so im wondering if im just putting some sort of stress on my brain when i focus so intensely that causes some sort of uncontrollable neurological response across my whole body.

Also, do hallucinogens help astral project or do all the closed eye visuals cause too much of a distraction and you just have a journey through your own mind?

Welcome to the forum!

First of all, i want to tell you something. It dosent matters what technique you use or what you do to fall into astral projection status! As long as you get viberations and you feel its getting you relaxed so much then it works! :) Also, you can count your breaths, it works a lot :)

One more thing you need to know ( We ONLY reply on what we know! We never give random answers!)

I appreciate the feedback but im not sure if its the actual vibrations i need to be experiencing.  I have a mild case of ADD and dystonia, so relaxing is not easy for me.  The fact i was able to reach what is possibly vibrations within minutes while iv still never even had an OBE when it takes a lot of people, even experienced people, up to like an hour sometimes is what kind of concerns me.

If i truly did find a way to do it that quick then im extremely excited to see how well i can actually project when i get it down, but with those 2 conditions it just makes me doubt my self.

For those who dont know, ADD makes it very difficult to focus on one thing(or nothing at all) and dystonia can cause uncontrollable spasms or twitches.  Both of those can be quite devastating to meditation.

I have read of a method called "straining the brain" I think it was some Indian chap with his own AP website. The description was vague and you might have nailed it!
Have you gone any further?

It was from ode4u.com not the Indian guy, this guy is Russian I think itz  the second indirect method.
Read reports that it produces vibrations fast.
Hope it works 4u.

ah awesome, and no i cant get past that.  I have trouble visualizing and holding an image for more than a few seconds.  I tried the way in the sticky thread posted on this form too.  Both got me to vibrations but i couldnt go farther.

Hi cjay612,

If you are getting excited or having any fear, It will be difficult to get past the vibration, You must calm down in both the cases, even if you are excited or in fear. Keep a simple task in mind to accomplish while you are in astral plane, So that while you are in vibration you will get those thoughts and you will try to work on that, This will help for the newbies. Things you should keep in mind should be very little task, like getting out of your home or getting into another room or something similar little task. Once you get experienced you can keep any type of task to accomplish :)

last night i got my first time seeing into it, but i couldnt do anything before i would loose focus.  It was the oddest thing, would focus on one area fir a few min, then suddenly it would form an object.  As it got closer the object got a background, but only slightly around the object. It kept moving closer to me and getting bigger and bigger.  As it gets close i can see whats in it and it had my room but a dark purple and it looked slightly off.  Well i was able to focus enough to get fully into it, but only a few seconds later it faded from my mind and i couldnt bring it back by thinking about it.

was that making it into the astral plane, or just some thought that formed in my head.
