I signed up here because I have been trying to project for a few days but always failed, instead becoming tired and falling asleep quickly.
First of all, I would like to share several important informations: I have had several uncontrolled, short OBE's in my life and sometimes wake up early feeling strange vibrations in my head and whole body and being unable to move. I also had prophetic dreams on at least 2 occasions and also some experiences associated with alien abductions (without actually remembering any aliens and/or UFO's but sometimes dreaming about them).
After reading about OBE's and astral projection, I decided that it is a good idea to learn to project on purpose. In the past days, I have been trying hardly, but without any success.
- I exercise either sitting comfortably on my bed during the day or lying in my bed, shortly after bedtime.
- First, I relax.
- I then focus on a certain "target point", usually a corner of my wardrobe.
- I try to induce the vibrational state somehow by relaxing my muscles and concentrating on the point between my eyes.
- My vision becomes foggy. It feels as if the whole room is full of fog around 60 seconds into the exercise, my eyes become dry. Maybe the movement of the muscles of my face reduces the blinking rate?
- I can get to a point where I hear a ringing in my ears, my vision is almost entirely blurred, my heartrate rises strongly and I feel some mild vibrations.
- I feel that I am about to "take off" - I try to "let go and fall" or sometimes imagine myself as the pilot of a plane accelerating on a runway, sometimes I use the rope technique - but suddenly, the "thrust" cuts off. The condition persists before decreasing, it somehow feels like moving by inertia and slowing. It takes about one minute for me to be ready to "accelerate" again, usually reaching a higher intensity.
- Especially if I exercise at night, I feel like just having had a workout and am very tired after giving up. The good side of this is that I can now fall asleep quickly instead of staring at the ceiling for hours.
I have done this many times now. Every time, I had a moment in which I felt as if I am entering the vibrational state and "ready to leave", but then, I could not go further. I recall that yesterday I maybe felt moving by a millimeter or so (if at all), but there was no real success.
My questions are:
- Am I on a good track towards achieving a controlled OBE?
- What mistakes am I possibly conducting? What is wrong with my exercise routine?
- What are other techniques should I try?
