Merge with younger self ?

I'm sure that time travel backwards is possible, although travel into the future is problematic because of quantum laws and free will choices making the future at best only "probable".

You could in theory visit yourself in the past, but in doing so you could alter your present views about yourself - and hence alter the future. That creates all sorts of difficulties.

I do not understand what you mean by "merging" with yourself. In what way would you merge: to become a different person? To share memories of past and future? To share thoughts? I think it creates too many difficulties from a quantum point of view.

With merging i mean, i stay physikaly in the past, i travel to the past, and re enter my body in a another year.
