Hello Chris,
I have had similar experiences, where I ended up in a different timeline or I project from lucid dream to my old house where I used to live 15 years ago, I still go there for no reason. I also believe that lucid dream is just another state of awareness where you just don't know that you are out of the body. In that case, even if it's a lucid dream or astral projection, in my case it's just another level of awareness, so you don't have to get confused whether it's a lucid dream or astral projection, if you are getting answers for what you are looking for, it doesn't matter in what level of awareness you are in.
It's there in the previous comment.

If you can move your limbs, its just numbness and not sleep paralysis.
Why do you need sleep paralysis? It is not necessary to astral project. You can astral project even without sleep paralysis. Please follow the exact steps written above and you should be able to astral project easily.
Sorry PeacePoiProsper, Allison Onisal, Sway. I just got carried away by Summerlanders useless arguments.
@Sway: Keep an intention before you try Astral projection, it will usually help you more. Try using some of the exit techniques provided earlier in the forum, it will help.
Here goes the Astral projection exit methods.
Let me know if you need any help.
