Sorry for the late answer,I've been busy this past couple of days.
You're interested I see, very good! It's always a nice thing to see people interested in such.
Well, your experience it's quite intriguing, I must say. I think I've experienced something similar. I have a theory of what it might've been, in your case, that is.
When we're in deep state of relaxation, it's normal to see many images in the darkness of our eyes. But since you had an auditory hallucination, it could be you were entering a lucid dream.
It's so vivid that even the sounds look like they're actually from outside, but you were shocked and got out of the trance, I'm guessing if you'd have stayed then maybe you would see something.
It could be sleep paralysis though. If you were completely still, then it might be it, since it's not always that sleep paralysis...(continued)
your experience seems to be great one , keep moving. you keep an focus on third eye while such experiences and keep posting . we may benefit.
Two interesting studies here showing benefits to Vipassana and Zazen meditation, particularly with lucid dreaming and projection in mind. In essence, Vipassana and Zazen meditation are two very similar practices, so the benefits of both are likely to apply to either.
Vipassana
Vipassana meditation enhances REM sleep as well as sleep quality as we age. This REM enhancement in essence increases the nightly window with in which one can become lucid, while also increasing dream recall.
A little while ago, I performed a little breath awareness meditation lying in bed before sleep...this induced what seemed to be a focus 10 state (Monroe Institute reference, described below), and my dream recall that night was the best it has been in a long time, amazing dreams! This has prompted me to make pre sleep...(continued)
Wondering if anyone here is familiar with the meditation techniques of the Clairvision school? This has recently come to my attention...the founder, Samuel Sagan seems like an interesting guy, a medical doctor, but someone who grew a bit disillusioned with western conventional medicine and wanted to explore consciousness deeper. He has studied with Taoists and practitioners of Kriya and Kundalini yoga, and also had a five year stint of full time meditation to see how far that rabbit hole goes.
I only ask as some people who have experienced this form of meditation claim it allows one to perceive things in a way that sounds very reminiscent of the OBE state.
This is kind of the mission statement of the Clairvision school:
"The approach of the school is resolutely experiential. It is designed for people who cannot be...(continued)
Hi Antony, Thanks for listing out the names of chakras.
Meditation is the only answer to all the questions of man. It may be frustration, it may be depression, it may be sadness, it may be meaninglessness, it may be anguish; the problems may be many, but the answer is one - meditation.
The simplest method of meditation is just a way of witnessing. There are one hundred and twelve methods of meditation, but witnessing is an essential part of all one hundred and twelve methods.
So as far as I am concerned, witnessing is the only method. Those one hundred and twelve are different applications of witnessing.
The essential core, the spirit of meditation is to learn how to witness. You are seeing a tree: You are there, the tree is there, but can't you find one thing more? - that you are seeing the tree, that there is a witness in you which is seeing you seeing the tree.
The world is not...(continued)
Hello.
My mission is to program my brain (literally). What I mean is - creating sets of algorithms. The brain is a universal Turing machine (a computer); so any kind of a "program" is possible. Few examples: savant abilities, painting\drawing directly from the mind, experiencing anything (including drug induced states and enlightenment), having conscious (lucid) dreams, making mathematical models like in a 3D program etc. Anything mental that is possible.
There are three ways I so far found I can achieve it:
1) To (literally) see something from my imagination and then continuing to control it more and more. This is the best method.
2) To stay conscious when sleeping, so I can enter my dreams consciously. Much less good; for some obvious downsides compared to the first; mostly that it's very rare, easily possible to be waken, can't...(continued)
Astral projection is where your soul actually leaves your body. This is different from remote viewing where you enter into a trance and will yourself to a specific location. The following two meditations are just basic guidelines.
Meditation 1
This meditation feels weird. Just make sure you seriously want to project, otherwise, any hesitation can keep you in your body. You have to be relaxed, both mentally and physically. The first few times are the most difficult. Like with anything else, consistent practice will make this easier, until you no longer have to even enter into a deep trance, but can project any time at will. Some people find projecting easier than others, as they have done this in past lives.
1. Get real comfortable and go into a trance. When you are so relaxed you can no longer feel your body, you...(continued)
Saw this just on youtube. Thought of sharing it :)
Neuroscientist Sara Lazar's amazing brain scans show meditation can actually change the size of key regions of our brain, improving our memory and making us more empathetic, compassionate, and resilient under stress.
Post your views :)

Okay, I just meditated again and near the end of my meditation it felt as though the lower half of my body was spinning in one direction while my upper half was spinning in the opposite. My entire body was vibrating and I was having a hard time breathing. I felt like I was going to die and I kind of freaked out and opened my eyes! It was so intense!!! WHAT WAS IT!!!!!! I was excited but scared!
Keep in mind one thing, its impossible to die from meditating, its just an energy in your body :)
