My first experience, and wish to meet others!

Yolke Dreaming

Welcome Songfeather,

I nearly projected the other day and it I also felt like someone was pulling my feet and my leg followed, but that was it.

I'm curious so I'll try your meditation one day.

Smoking/alcohol before Astral Projection

Yes, it will lower your vibrational frequency, which will either hinder you from projecting or if you still manage to project you'll be vulnerable to attacks and might see some unpleasant/scary things.

Ideally you shouldn't smoke and drink in the long run as well , but if it's too difficult for you try to make it occasional.

Also, if you're going to project, I recommend to not smoke and drink for at least 3 days prior the attempt. That will give you sometime to raise your vibrations.

Hello Yupifelix, Welcome to the world of weirdness blush

Congrats, you have just experienced Sleep paralysis, the one step near to Astral Projection. All you need to do next is just stay calm, so that you can focus and build your energy to astral project.

Go ahead and search the forum to find exit techniques, which will help you to exit your body next time when you experience sleep paralysis.

Let us know if you have any queries.

SP methods

Well I'll be damned! I know what you're talking about.

I hate swallowing reflex, used to have all the time, but now decreased. I also get jerking a lot. I don't really know how to stop it though.

But if I were you I'd not give it much thought, it's something we'll never know when it will happen, furthermore, it's a good sign that your body is getting ready for projection.

My only advice would be: try to keep your position once this happens, like it was no big deal and just continue with your projection.

It's just your body testing you.

What happened here??

Well, I don't know about the other users, but I'm afraid I'm might not be able to help as I've never heard of something like this before.

The only explanation I can think of, is that you had a lucid dream that you didn't quite got control of.

Although I don't know what kind of technique you use, I noticed that a lot of people, myself included, would have an intense realistic dream while trying to project. I think this is the consequence of failing in the attempt, since all the times this happened I 'd soon wake up.

Now, I think the reason for this, is that somehow our unconscious mind knows we're going to fail this one attempt for whatever reason, and promptly shifts the focus in another similar activity, once we're already in a hypnagogic state anyways, thus commencing the lucid dream.

Usually when this happens to me the dreams...(continued)

First Night.

Regarding these light patterns mentioned by him, is indeed pretty common to see orbs, rays of light and whatnot. I see it myself sometimes while meditating.

I really relate to you about the "tremble-ish" phenomenon, when the arms are numb, yet you feel as if they're slightly trembling, I presume this could be a form of vibration on its own way, but a weak one. This quite happens to me.

I only use binaural beats to deepen my relaxation, but some people report significant progress, so it's worth trying. It all depends on which methods you're working with.

Keep with your routine for now, if it doesn't show results after a while, try other technique. Don't worry too much about reaching the vibration stage, the intensity varies from one person to another, many people don't even get vibrations at all.

What to do when in sleep paralysis?

Sorry it took me long to reply, for some reason I was unable to post the answer from my cellphone, maybe it's a bug or something. I suppose you're talking about this :

The “Open Mouth” Exit Initiator

The first method is the ‘open mouth exit’ and it was discovered by a forum poster named tsunaH. In sleep paralysis 99% of the time even if everything below your neck is paralyzed you can still move your eyes and mouth. To do this method simply open your mouth and take a few slow deep breaths. Be sure not to breathe too hard or you’ll break the paralysis. By doing this you’ll feel yourself start to separate starting at your head. This method is a very reliable way to get the exit process kick started. It’s actually more of an ‘exit initiator’ than a full exit method because a lot of times it will get you half way...(continued)
