From what I understand, a hamzaad or qareen is a negative companion. Like in Photography there is a negative that produces the picture. In the Qur'an: And whosoever turns away from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent, we appoint for him Shaytan to be a qarin to him. Sūrat az-Zukhruf (43:36) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qareen I, however, am not Muslim. My faith is more Christian, though I see so many similarities. For example, the Shaytan and Satan are possibly the same. Therefore, the Hamzaad is a negative companion.
As being related to the astral, it would be like photography in the production of the picture, but it would be the interpretation of the images. For instance, the hamzaad will prompt you to do the opposite of what should be done.
