Discovering new

Posted over 5 years ago , by Roxanne Kelley

Greetings to all -

I am new to this site but quite familiar with OBEs. Back when I was in my teens, I was more familiar with the term astral projection. In most cases, I find those terms can both be a bit misleading in that your consciousness travels but it is an inward journey-

Often times we experience these travels by viewing ourselves and energy bodies in 3D but in my travels I have been many things...not always in a physical body but I’m getting ahead of myself.

Since I haven’t officially introduced myself to anyone, I want to start off by saying “Hello” My name is Roxanna but I also go by Roxanne or simply Rox - I would like to comment after reading many of the posts- I sincerely appreciate everyone who came on this forum to share and write about their own experiences.

I have had many out of body experiences throughout my life, though most were completely spontaneous and I had no working knowledge (at the time) how those experiences were achieved.

Many started in early childhood, and I thought I had magic powers in that I could float above my bed and visit my parents in the next room - I had no idea what I was doing other than I knew I wanted to see if my mom was okay. After my mom would put me to bed, I knew if I laid down still long enough and sort of held my breath - I would float up like a balloon and then gradually I could levitate my way over to the next room. I did not realize what I was doing or why in some cases it happened and other times it didn’t. I just know that those experiences usually led or launched into very vivid dreams that I would later enjoy telling my mother about. Geez,,,can I pressume I must have been an interesting/odd child wink

Later I learned to fly, and though most of my experiences have been positive there were a lot things going on around me I didn’t know or understand.

I think as tumultuous as young adult life can be, as a teenager my experiences drastically changed. I went through an incredibly dark period that affected a big part of my life and I did not understand nor did I enjoy my experiences. I avoided sleeping alone as much as I could, and most of my experiences were unsettling to say the least.

In most cases, now as an adult, I have studied more on the subject and have found fear is a big barrier you must get beyond to continue in your ascension and discovery of the multidimensional universe. I was terrified of my out of body experiences as a teenager and tried to block that part of myself.

Though I mainly had a Catholicism upbringing, I always considered myself a spiritual person and a Christian but I had no understanding of the third eye, kundalini, energy, or any of those related topics though many things resonated with me. I found Bob Monroe in my 30’s and reading his work has helped validate a huge part of myself I never shared with anyone.

Unfortunately, I was never able to meet Bob Monroe in person, and only after his passing did I discover his work. Yet, even then, I was still able to attend a Gateway Program at the Monroe Institute to learn how to consciously navigate through the focus levels. Though a caveat to that is, it seems much harder going backwards than forward. I don’t know enough about a topic that appears to answer one question while opening the door to many new inquiries.

I’ll leave with I am still learning.

Finding this forum is amazing. I didn’t know there were more people willing to discuss their own personal experiences. I enjoy reading up on these topics but find you can experience and learn so much more from others.

Thank you for sharing- up until recently I never told very many people (if any) about my travels. I apologize for taking up so much space!

Hope I may contribute something of value to anyone who is also searching for more definitive answers or help formulate more meaningful experiences in your consciousness exploration of the astral realm.
